If you fancy seeing museums then this place will shock you with it’s amazing collections of stuffed animals, rare fossils, Stone Age items, dinosaurs and many more.
Within the Natural History Museum you’ll find amongst other collections, a skeleton of a dinosaur. It is a Diplodocus dinosaur, which is the longest terrestrial vertebrate in the world, and is located in the show room on the upper ground floor. You’ll see a topaz that weighs about 258lb and it is located in the Gem Hall. Probably the most dominant attraction within the museum is the famous Venus von Willendorf. This figure is a 25, 000 year old obese woman.
The Museum houses about 20 million items and was opened in 1889. It is considered to be one of the most important museums in the world. The building represents a land area of 8,700 meters squared and it is beautifully designed with ornaments and furniture.
Within the museum you’ll also find a shop selling numerous books and articles and the charming café Nautilus serves delicious sweet dishes.
