Schloss Schonbrunn Palace

The Schloss Schronbrunn Palace is one of Vienna’s major monuments and up to 6.7 million tourists visit it every year.

The former home of the Emperor, Franz Josef, was added to UNESCO’S World Cultural Heritage list in 1999.

The Schonbrunn Palace really is a spectacular place and tourists who come here will have access to nearly every room in the palace, thus, giving them a comprehensive insight about the lifestyle of the Imperial Family

The sleeping arrangements within the place consisted of the Emperor and Empress on the first floor, the children on the second and third floor and all the employees slept in the buildings outside.

The Blue staircase was often used by the family as it was the quickest route to get to the apartments. Some of the rooms within the Palace include the Marie Antoinette Room (used as the dining room), the Yellow Salon, the Balcony room (contains portraits of Maria Theresa’s children), the Mirror room where Mozart performed for the family, the Rosa Room (used as a meeting area for visitors).
