Money –

• ·Most major credit cards are widely accepted but always ask beforehand to make sure. And most ATM’s will accept credit cards along with bank pass cards containing the Cirrus logo.
• ·There is usually a service charge included in restaurants but it is also customary to tip by rounding out the bill.

Business hours –

• ·General shopping hours are from 9am to 6.30 -7 pm Monday to Saturday. Some smaller stores on the edges of the city may keep shorter hours.

Telephones –

• ·Vienna has a good public telephone system in the streets that operate well and they are usually paired with one being coin operated and one using a phone card. The phone cards are readily available from post offices, tobacconists and some supermarkets.

When’s a good time to go –

• The city can get very cold during January and very hot during the late summer during July and August. So June and September are very popular months to visit in Vienna. If you want to miss the crowds, then perhaps the late spring and early summer would suit you best.
