Vienna has a large and efficient public transport network. If you are staying for a few days it is recommended that you get a Vienna Card. This card is reasonably priced and gives you unlimited access to all public transport links for 72 hours. The card can even be used at some museums to gain a discount of one or two euro.

The Vienna U-Bahn is mostly underground, and there are 5 lines that radiated throughout the city. The Vienna S-Bahn suburban rail network extends throughout the city and stretches to the outer reaches of the city. The Vienna Buses are clean and efficient, and are frequent enough that an intimate knowledge of the timetable is unnecessary.

The Vienna Tramway is the 3rd largest in the world and is certainly the best way to see the city as you move from point to point.
